“When evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. Darkness had already set in, but Jesus had not yet come to them. Then a high wind arose, and the sea began to churn. After they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea. He was coming near the boat, and they were afraid. But He said to them, “It is I. Don’t be afraid! ” Then they were willing to take Him on board, and at once the boat was at the shore where they were heading.”, John 6:16-21 HCSB
• Jesus walked on water. Imagine if someone did that today! Even if we saw it on video, most of us would doubt that person was actually walking on water. We would think that someone doctored the video (and we would most likely be correct!). Only those who were with the person, witnessed it with their own eyes, and knew the person intimately would believe it really happened.
• As a Christian, I need to remember that no matter what is going on in my life, Jesus is right there saying, “It is I. Don’t be afraid!.”
“The 11 disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. When they saw Him, they worshiped, but some doubted. Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””, Matthew 28:16-20 HCSB
• Jesus says He will be with us always, to the very end of the age. He is always there saying, “It is I. Don’t be afraid!”
• The above words are from Jesus and He told His disciples to go make disciples of all nations and teach those disciples everything that Jesus had taught them, which obviously includes going to make disciples of all nations. That is great news for Christians because I believe doing that is what brings a happiness that can not be found anywhere else!
