“When Jesus had finished saying these things, he looked upward to heaven and said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, so that your Son may glorify you – just as you have given him authority over all humanity, so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him. Now this is eternal life – that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent. I glorified you on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created.”, John 17:1-5 NET
• There are a number of times when Jesus says that the Father is greater than He was. After reading much of the book of John (very slowly), I am starting to lean toward the idea that Jesus was less than God only because (and during the time) He was human. I don’t know this for sure but that makes the most sense to me at this time. Perhaps that is how He was/is the Son of God. In other words, perhaps He was the Son of God through being born as a human? I, however, am not definite on this yet. What does being glorified at your side imply about Jesus’ relationship with the Father?
